Higher Institute of Sciences - Algiers

Club Scientifique de l'ESI

CSE club is one of the largest scientific clubs in Algeria. Working since 2008, our main goal is to offer original and innovative content throughout our hackathons, workshops, training and social media.

// What is Hack !T

Hack !T is the first hackathon organized in Algeria by students. It was organized in two editions, the first in 2017 and the second in 2018. This concept was introduced by CSE in order to stimulate innovation within the student community and develop IT solutions to solve the various problems posed during a whole weekend.

# Last Edition

The second and most recent edition of Hack !T was held from April 26th to the 28th at the Higher National School of Computer Science in Algiers, gathering approximately 100 participants, all from different Algerian universities and colleges with different specialties and coaches to assist the teams in completing their projects. It also hosted different workshops and trainings under the theme Algiers Smart City for the participants.

// Testimonials

I participated in Hack !T both as an organizer in the first edition, and a participant in the second edition. For both times, the best moments for me were those of discussing with total strangers (that became friends later) at 4 a.m about cool ideas and about our passion for Technology and business.

Amir Kroudir

Digital and Analytics Consultant in a management consulting firm.

We created Hack!T to support the Algerian tech ecosystem growth, give the youth a chance to unleash their creativity, stimulate their innovation and showcase their talent to the community. The ultimate goal was pushing people to search for problems, propose measurable impactful solutions, and develop new ideas.

Chemseddin Belkheir

Technology & data consultant at converteo, and a CSE's Former President.

Hack !T was "the" event for our generation, we were the youngest bureau at our time, so succeeding in the organization of an event that big was really something. I’ll always remember and cherish the nights we spent at the school, making memories and just bonding with each other.

Amine Remache

Embedded software engineer at MUNIC and CSE’s ex vice-president

The best part about Hack !T was the energy displayed by the participants and the good vibes that reigned the atmosphere. It was amazing seeing the sparkle in their eyes as they tirelessly work to make their creative projects see light.

Aymen Bazouzi

PhD student at Université de Rennes 1, CominLabs and CS engineering graduate from ESI.

Hack !T is a great experience in which you’ll learn how to work in a team and deal with high pressure moments. It is also an occasion to meet new people, share knowledge, opinions, and have lots of fun. Definitely not to be missed!

Billel Benoudjit

Software Engineering student at ESI, NLP research intern at FEMTO-ST, and CSE's former president.

Strategic planning, thoughtful organization, and good logistics are what make a participant satisfied with an event. That's why Hack !T was so special; every hacker was fully satisfied.

Adel Namani

Data scientist at Rexel and former CSE Webmaster

It was very refreshing seeing all these young algerians sharing this incredible and huge interest in technology and innovation.

Yousra Bezza

Former communication lead at CSE, final year computer science student at ESI
